Your Child Out of
ADD/ADHD
In my previous article, "Causes of ADD and ADHD" I explained seven triggers that often cause ADD/ADHD to develop. Here is what I recommend to parents who wish to help their children overcome ADD/ADHD symptoms.
First of all, there ABSOLUTELY must be a change in diet. The ADD/ADHD child should have no sugar of any kind, nothing made with white flour, nothing with preservatives, artificial flavors and colors. These contribute to the triggers of candida yeast, blood sugar imbalance, imbalances in the small and large intestine contributing to food allergies.
These kids should be started on the Rotation Diet to determine the foods that they are sensitive to so these can be avoided completely until the intestinal tract is healed, the blood is cleaned, and the food no longer causes an allergic reaction. In the rotation diet, you start out with only one or two foods at a meal. Do not give them any of the foods they commonly love or enjoy, as these are often the culprit. This diet will help weed out which ones are. Avoid any of the following on the rotation diet until you find out which ones your child is sensitive to:
1. Dairy
products
2. Wheat
products
which includes, wheat, oats, and barley.
3. Meat, fish,
or poultry
4. Oranges
5. Chocolate
6. Refined
sugars which include white table sugar, brown sugar, cane sugar, beet
sugar,
and honey.
7. White flour
or anything made with white flour
8. Corn
9. Potatoes
10. Eggs
11. Soy
These are the most common allergens. You might ask....what is there left for them to eat? Brown rice and lots of fruits and vegetables, nothing processed. Just real food.
So, the first day you are only giving one or two kinds of food at a meal, and you watch to see if there are any reactions after the foods eaten, or if the existing reactions intensify. If any food triggers a reaction, replace it with another food, and eliminate the triggering food from the diet. You should do a four day rotation, meaning that the same food is not repeated for four days. For instance, if on day one for breakfast you have a puffed rice cereal and a grapefruit, you could not have those foods again for four days.
Keep eliminating foods from the diet until you have eliminated the symptoms, or until you have noticed a lessening of the symptoms. Then, one at a time, add back into the diet the foods on the list above, as well as the foods you eliminated through rotation. If any one of them causes a problem, you know that is a food the child is sensitive to. The sensitive foods should stay out of the child's diet completely until the blood has been cleaned and the intestinal tract healed.
If the above diet does not rule out dairy products, make sure your child drinks at least a quart of raw, unpasteurized organic milk per day, a cup of yogurt, and an ounce of cheese to get the minimum amount of calcium to have the most basic level of health. 7-10 servings of fruits and vegetables per day is a goal to shoot for as well.
Even after the child's body is healed, he/she should stay permanently away from white sugar and flour products. There is absolutely no health benefit from these products, and they encourage the candida yeast to come back even after it has been reduced to manageable proportions. Also, artificial flavors and colors such as red no. 40 can be a trigger for some kids, so avoiding anything artificial and just sticking to eating REAL food is important.
After eliminating the offending foods from the diet, the kids need some nutritional support to help them calm down and focus. A good DHA supplement would be my first idea. Next would be adding Ultimate Living's Ionic Trace Minerals to everything the child drinks. You can add a few drops without changing the taste of the liquid, except that it will pH balance it so that the drink is no longer acidic.
Get the book "The Calcium Factor" to learn exactly how damaging it is to have high acid and low calcium levels. Below are some suggestions on calcium.To clean and oxygenate the blood, as well as facilitate good digestion, a good super green food supplement should be used.
ADD/ADHD kids should not drink sodas at all, not even the caffeine free/sugar free kind. Caffeine and sugar cause the body to dump calcium into the urine, which is counterproductive when trying to raise calcium levels. Sugar also increases the output of adrenalin in children more than adults, so if you are trying to help your child calm down, sugar is counterproductive. Also, sugar and sugar-free varieties of soda both contain phosphoric acid, which leaches calcium from the bones to reduce the acidic pH level in the blood. The carbonation in the drink which causes it to bubble also reduces the level of oxygen in the blood by 20 to 25% for up to three hours after drinking one.
To aid in the proper digestion of foods, enzymes should be taken with each meal.
The above protocol should be tried for two months, and if there is no improvement, the problem is almost certainly candida yeast. This should be met with an elimination of not only processed sugar, but all fruits for a period of two months. Only meats (if tolerated on the rotation diet) and vegetables should be eaten. The only natural substance I have ever found that will actually kill a systemic yeast condition is Nutronix International's The New Silver Solution.
Then, there needs to be a regular body building and regeneration program for these kids. I'd like you to look into Nutronix International to keep kids, and the whole family healthy.
