Learn About Your DNA

DNA stands for "Deoxyribonucleic Acid"
DNA is where your genetic information is stored.

Your body is made up of millions of cells.

Inside each cell is a nucleus.

(1) Nuclear envelope. (2) Ribosomes. (3) Nuclear pore complexes. (4) Nucleolus.
(5) Chromatin. (6) Nucleus. (7) Endoplasmic reticulum. (8) Nucleoplasm

The Chromatin is the material that looks like a long string inside the nucleus.  You've probably watched the movie
"Jurassic Park" and heard them talking about a DNA strand.  The Chromatin is where the DNA is.
The DNA contains the blueprint for how to repair the cell.

Inside each nucleus are 46 chromosomes, 23 pairs in all
Each chromosome contains many strands of DNA.

Your DNA is made up of proteins which are the "building blocks of life."
It is these proteins which are the fundamental paradox of human existence.
The DNA and proteins must exist at the same time in order for life to develop.
