Indigo:  The Color of Soothing, Power,
Connection with Knowledge, Idealism,
Introversion and......martyrdom?

Indigo is also a deep blue, but much stronger in vibration than the blue ray.  Those dominated by Indigo color energy have very studious minds, make good teachers and reformers, but must be careful not to become too reclusive.  Because they are ideological, they may tend to withdraw from those who don't share their ideals.  They need acknowledgement for their hard work in order to avoid becoming martyrs.  The indigo person needs a little more joy in their lives, which is why a few orange and yellow foods need to be part of their diets.  Indigo has a sedating effect on the lower mind, producing an effect similar to anesthesia.  These people tend to be non-violent, compassionate, and have integrity.  They are a little less conservative and a little more spiritual than the pure blue ray, with violet being the most spiritual of all.

Do you have an over-abundance of indigo energy?  Ask yourself:

1.  Do you have blue-black or gray hair?
2.  Do you have deep blue eyes?
3.  Have you or your parents suffered from problems related to individual bones or the skeleton as a whole, or
     the eyes, ears, or throat?
4.  Do you have a good imagination but frightening dreams?
5.  Do you have dry skin?

Score of 0-1 indicates that this energy center may have been under-energized at birth.
Score of 2-3 indicates that you inherited a balance of this color energy from your parents.
Score of 4-5 indicates that you have an indigo color predisposition.

So now what do you do?  If you scored 4-5, you should probably eat a few indigo foods to keep you balanced, and a fair amount of orange or yellow foods to bring you more joy and fulfillment.

Indigo foods include:

Hass avocados; black, red, and Texas mulberries, blackberries, black cherries, black figs, blackcurrants, plums, prunes, raisins, black Spanish radishes, eggplant, olives, oyster mushrooms, sweet peppers, truffles, green beans, soy sauce, tamari sauce, sea vegetables.

Indigo herbs include:  licorice root, vanilla bean

Indigo Essential Oils:

Clove - provides pain relief
Teatree - antibacterial, antifungal
Yarrow - acts directly on the bone marrow, stimulates blood renewal, has a healing effect on varicose veins

To balance too much indigo, use orange foods.   To see this list, see January 18.
