The ancient Chinese observed nature and identified with it.  They realized that there is a wholeness and a balance that comes from nature., and they sought to incorporate this into everything they did.  To this end, they invented the practice of Feng Shui, which is based on the idea of creating harmony by following the principles of nature.  Feng means "wind" and Shui means "water".  The energy which flows in and between every particle of matter has the attributes of these two natural forces.  Energy, or "chi" flows, just as water does, and although it moves and causes observable effects, like the wind, it is not itself visible.  John 3:8 in the Bible states, "The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."

Within your spirit, as well as in every process of nature, there is connection and movement.  There are things going on where you can see something is happening, but you don't understand how.  This is the way of chi.  Also,  there is an obvious order to things in nature, even though it often seems irregular and chaotic.  There is a method and purpose to everything.  Why does a path meander through the woods, turning this way and that instead of going straight from one place to another?  Why does moss grow on the north side of a tree?  Why do those concentric circles radiate outward  when a pebble is dropped into the water?  We can use these facts as examples of design principles that take advantage of healing, harmonious patterns in nature.  The circle is a shape created naturally by energy waves.  A path that meanders is more visually pleasing than a straight one.  Moss growing on the north side of a tree is an example of the fact that the different directions, north, south , east and west, have different energy which effects things.  All these principles are used in Fegn Shui.  We bring them inside our homes and workplaces to bring health, peace and balance to our lives and work.

Look to nature as your guide and you will never go wrong.  Nature teaches us all the lessons of life.
