Would you like to spread the word about the wonderful options available to birthing mothers today?  Would you like to help empower women to do and become more than they ever thought they could?  Autonomous Birth and Parenting now offers certification as a Childbirth Educator with an emphasis in Unassisted Childbirth.  We call this Autonomous Childbirth, because the woman is in control.  After doing research and consulting her own inner intuitive wisdom, she exercises her constitutional right of self-government and births according to her own needs and beliefs. This is a home study program which you can complete as quickly or as slowly as you want.  Most people will be able to complete the program is 6 to 12 months.  The teaching program is written and administered by Judie C. Rall, a Certified Childbirth Educator originally certified through ALACE (Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators).  After completing and teaching ALACE's wonderful program several years, Dr. Rall wanted to help women move beyond the need for birth attendants, and become autonomous birthers.

The fee for this course is $750 dollars.  You may pay the full amount when submitting your application, pay a $20 application fee with the balance due upon acceptance into the program, pay a $150 downpayment with three monthly installments of $200 thereafter, or a $150 downpayment with $50 per month for 12 months.

It is our preference for acceptance into the program that you have given birth to at least one of your children at home, with or without a midwife.  Applicants who have never given birth, or who have only given birth in the hospital cannot be guaranteed acceptance, but will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Upon receipt of your application and acceptance into the program, you will immediately be sent a reading list.  You will be expected to secure all the books on the list and read them thoroughly in preparation for the coursework and testing.  You will be given a little time to secure these books.  Then you will be sent your first lesson.  After completing the lesson, send it back and we will grade it, returning it with your next lesson.

As far as we know, this is the only Childbirth Educator Certification of its kind.  We are teaching you how to empower women so they can make their own informed choices, birth their own babies and do their own prenatal care, without the assistance of doctors or midwives - in fact, without the assistance of anyone.  We are helping women to reach within themselves to discover the power and skills they inherently possess, but have been taught to ignore.  We also hope to empower women to parent autonomously as well....the word autonomous means that you make your decisions without being controlled by outside influences.  In other words, women should be in control of their own birth experience, and they should also feel free to trust their instincts and parent separate and apart from the opinions of "experts."  Autonomous parenting, or attachment parenting, also encourages autonomy on the part of the child without discouraging the connectedness which is necessary for healthy emotional development.
