Celebrations
Holidays are so much fun!! They combine family traditions with rich historical traditions of different cultures. People choose to celebrate them in many different ways. Some people prefer the old fashioned, traditional, "American-ized" ways of celebrating. Others would prefer to incorporate older, less well-known traditions from other cultures. Still others would prefer to invent brand new holiday traditions of their own. That's what unhindered holiday celebration is all about. You aren't compelled to feel that you MUST celebrate a holiday the way everyone else does. To find out more about unhindered living in general, visit The Center for Unhindered Living .
This page is still evolving. Because our family likes to celebrate according to the ancient Celtic calendar, the first celebration we are posting is that of Samhain, better known today as Halloween. Samhain was considered the beginning of the New Year for the Celts. We will post new holidays throughout the year as they arrive. There is also a page to help explain to children about the cycles of life which we all experience and are a part of.
Please
bookmark this page and visit often throughout the year to get ideas
about
recipes, games, rituals and traditions which you could perhaps
incorporate
into your own holiday celebrations.
