Meditation

Meditation is a means of
transforming the mind. By regularly practicing a calm, focused
state of mind, one is able to cultivate more positive ways of thinking
and being. There are literally hundreds of ways to meditate, and there
is no one "right" way. Anyone can meditate, regardless of their
spiritual beliefs or lack thereof. Meditation can reduce stress,
improve health, and empower the individual through personal insight and
the development of discipline necessary to cultivate lifestyle changes.
Meditation can help remove blockages to energy flow. It does this
in both physical and mental ways. Most studies on meditation show
that it slows the heart rate, lowers blood pressure, increases theta
waves, enhances functioning of the right brain, decreases cortisol
levels and cholesterol, decreases blood sugar levels, decreases pain,
regression of some cancers and many more health-promoting effects
(1). Mentally, it relieves stress, provides mental focus and
clarity, and can help the individual to change limiting thoughts and
beliefs. All these things indicate that changes in energy flow
are occuring.
Meditation also helps to raise the vibratory frequency of the cells,
which contributes to increased physical and mental health and wellness.
