Journaling Your Dreams

Dreams offer us glimpses into the inner workings of our minds and hearts.  Sleep is actually a form of meditation, through which we come to understand ourselves better. Sometimes dreams are a way of communicating with our higher selves,  and their purpose is either for us to communicate with the universe, or for the universe to communicate with us.

Journaling about your dreams will invariably bring you much insight, peace and power.

Keep a journal by your bed, so that as soon as you wake up and remember a dream, you can write it down. There are some dreams that don't linger very long. When we have been dreaming, we have been in a state of altered consciousness, and we should honor this state as important to our spiritual development, and as a bridge between the two worlds of existence, physical and spiritual. Dreams ARE spirit communication.

Chakra Journaling

Chakras are energy channels that run through the body, located in different parts of the body. Chakras receive, process and transmit energy. Each energy center has a vortex or wheel of energy, that extends from the physical body into the aura. Each chakra has its own field of energy and influence on the body. There are seven main chakras that are located vertically along the spine. They are located within the center of the body, and open on both the front and back of the body.


 
Before doing chakra journaling, it's important to ground yourself. In fact, grounding yourself should be done on a daily basis, an hourly basis, or anytime you need grounding. A grounded state is a peaceful, effective, healing state. Being grounded keeps you moving forward, towards what you truly want out of life.

Chakra Grounding Exercise

This visualization helps restore your red energy connected to your root chakra.

1.      Close your eyes and center yourself with deep breathing.

2.      Visualize a cord, like a tail, coming out of the base of your spine.

3.      Imagine the cord melt through the chair you are sitting on, then through the levels of the building you are in, deeper and deeper into the earth.

4.      In the center of the earth visualize a huge crystal. Envision your cord wrapping around that crystal three times then secure it with a knot.

5.      Sit for a minute or two and feel what it is like to be anchored to the earth.

6.      Now let the red energy from the crystal be transferred up the cord into your pelvis area.

7.      Feeling secure allow the energy to spread to your hips.

8.      Sit for a few moments with this energy until you feel that it is enough red energy.
