Thyme

Thyme contains the flavonoids apigenin, naringenin, luteolin, and thymonin.  It can help increase the percentage of healthy fats in our cell structures.  Studies have shown thyme to be helpful in the treatment of acute bronchitis.  Thyme has been shown to interfere in the formation of candida, and can inhibit the growth of molds in damp buildings.  It was also found to e an effective mosquito repellant.  It inhibits the growth of salmonella and e. coli, and inhibits the enzyme elastase, which is a marker for inflammatory diseases and breaks down elastin. It is also being studied for it's apparent anti-aging properties.  Thyme is one of the five best herbs to grow:  basil, cilantro, parsley, oregano and thyme.  Great with chicken and fish!
