Thyme
contains the flavonoids apigenin, naringenin, luteolin, and
thymonin. It can help increase the percentage of healthy fats in
our cell structures. Studies have shown thyme to be helpful in
the treatment of acute bronchitis. Thyme has been shown to
interfere in the formation of candida, and can inhibit the growth of
molds in damp buildings. It was also found to e an effective
mosquito repellant. It inhibits the growth of salmonella and e.
coli, and inhibits the enzyme elastase, which is a marker for
inflammatory diseases and breaks down elastin. It is also being studied
for it's apparent anti-aging properties. Thyme is one of the
five best herbs to grow: basil, cilantro, parsley, oregano and
thyme. Great with chicken and fish!
