Let's
take
a walk through a typical day in your life, and see just how many toxins
you are coming in contact with on a daily basis. Some people
might not be aware of just how toxic the environment we live in is, and
how important it is to try and reduce toxins.
You wake up in the
morning, stretch, and probably head for the
bathroom, if you are like most of us. You'll probably sit on the
toilet and use some toilet tissue. Toilet tissue is whitened with
chlorine bleach. When chlorine bleach comes in contact with
organic compounds it creates Dioxin, and this is a known
carcinogin. Which organic compounds? The ones coming out of
your body and into the toilet. This goes into the water treatment
system and is not always filtered out. There are going to be
residues of this in your toilet. Always put your toilet seat down
to flush so this does not get splashed out accidentally when you
flush. But it would be easier to just use a toilet tissue that is
not bleached. These ARE available, but not at Wal-mart,
sadly.
Then you probably brush
your teeth. Your toothpaste will probably
haved fluoride in it. Fluoride is a strong toxin. Studies
show that after 8
years of age, fluoride has no benefit whatsoever to
your teeth. And the majority of people use much more toothpaste
than they are supposed to. If you read the directions on the
tube, it states you are supposed to use a "pea-sized"
portion. 23 studies from four countries have shown that
even moderate exposure lowers IQ. The daily dose of fluoride
recommended by the American Dental Association results in the same
level of fluoride in your blood that is shown in studies to cause an 8
point drop in IQ. In other words, it negatively effects the
brain, as well as other organs.
Next you probably head to
the kitchen to make some coffee. Your
coffee is highly laced with dangerous pesticides. Coffee is the
crop which has the highest levels of pesticides of any commercially
grown crop. Then you might proceed to make yourself some
scrambled eggs laid by chickens that were given hormones and
antibiotics, synthetic estrogens which cause cancer and many
reproductive-related health problems. You might fix
yourself some toast made from wheat that contains mycotoxins, and
the bread has high fructose corn syrup and trans-fatty acids, both
encouraging diabetes and heart disease. You probably also made
your coffee with bleached white coffee filters, so that bleach is
getting into your coffee as well.
Next you probably put on
your makeup, including some kind of lipstick
or lip gloss. Studies of lipstick have showed that every brand
tested contained some levels of LEAD. Yes, that heavy metal that
has been excluded from paint for safety reasons is in your
lipstick. Does that make sense?
You probably now get into
your car and go to your job, and on the way
you are breathing carbon monoxide from car exhaust and pollution from
factories. You sit at a computer screen at your job for hours and
absorb radiation from the screen, unless you have purchased a screen
protector that hangs over your monitor. If you talk on your cell
phone a lot, you are receiving radiation directly into the side of your
head, unless you use a non-bluetooth headset. And devices like
wireless routers and cordless phones send dangerous radiation
zig-zagging across your path everywhere you turn.
At lunch you might heat
up a frozen dinner in the microwave, and this
leaves radiolytic compounds in the food, as well as destroying 97% of
the nutritional value of the food. Also, the plastic containers
that hold the food leach more syntetic estrogens and other toxic
substances from the plastic into the foods.
Then if you think you are
doing something healthy by buying bottled
water, the plastic bottle the water is sold in contains BPA (Bisphenol
A) and this coumpound is also found in many microwave food containers
and also leaches in to the food when microwaved. It also leaches
into the water stored in the bottles. Best to bring your own
water to work in a glass container (I use a Mason jar), and eat
something for lunch that doesn't have to be heated.
Or you might go to lunch
and get french fries from a fast food place,
deep fried at high temperatures which create free radicals, and with
partically hyrogenated oil which clogs your arteries. because of the
free radical damage. French fries and donuts are the two most
dangerous foods on the planet.
If you do decide to eat
something healthy for lunch, like an apple, you
then run the risk of ingesting some of the most lethal pesticides in
use. 92% of apples contain two or more pesticides which are not
removed by washing and peeling the apple. The "Dirty Dozen" list
of foods containing the most pesticides are:

3. Strawberries
4. Peaches
5. Spinach
6. Nectarines

7. Grapes (imported)
8. Sweet bell
peppers
9. Potatoes
10. Blueberries
11. Lettuce
12. Kale/collard
greens
You come home from work
and get into the shower, and as the steam rises
and you breath it in, you are inhaling gaseous chlorine, which is even
more lethal than drinking it in your water. Then you cook
your healthy vegetable stir-fry in a non-stick skillet which releases
toxic gases which are colorless and odorless. That's why DuPont
got slapped with a huge fine for selling these pans for 20 years even
though their records clearly show that they knew about the toxic
gas.
All your cleaning
products will contain toxic chemicals which you
should not breath and which can be absorbed thorugh the skin.
Better to use lemon juice, vinegar, and baking soda instead. Or
purchase one of the safe alterantives.
If you have a baby, you
may be using disposable diapers, which contain
Sodium Polyacrylate, which is an absorbent gel responsible for making
the diapers super absorbent. This chemical used to be in tampons
but was removed because it caused Toxic Shock Syndrome. However,
it's still in your baby's diapers.
Speaking of babies, if
your baby drinks formula, infant formulas are
processed under high heat, which crates AGES (Advanced Glycation End
Products). Ages are sugar molecules that attach to and damage
protein molecules in the body. Infants switched from breastfeeding to
formula were test and it was found that their levels of AGES increased
to the levels found in diabetics. When sugar molecules are
glycated, they activate the immune system which causes inflammation in
the body, This creates scar tissue on the arteries and increases
insulin levels, thereby presidposing the individual to heart disease
and diabetes, as well as other conditions.
This doesn't begin to
address the artificial flavors and colors,
preservatives, flavor enhancers, and other substances with known
effects on human health.. Nor the things added to our foods such
as "microcrystalline cellulose" which is nothing more than good old
wood pulp. Go into your pantry and read labels and see just how
many foods list cellulose or microcrystalline cellulose as
ingredients.
Then there is the
Aspartame and Splenda artificial sweetners which are
stealthily included in so many of our foods, it's hard to keep track of
them. These have known side effects as they are neurological
toxins. And how about the antibiotics and hormones in your meats
and dairy products, and the fact that almost all corn and soy products
grown in this country are genetically modified, and that 70% of
processed foods contain genetically modified ingredients. Very
dangerous. We also feed genetically modified corn and soybeans to
our cattle which gets into the meat and milk.
Is that enough???

point. Please make the choice to buy organic. We will be
